フィリピン支援のためにスーパースター達が動き出す

超大型台風により壊滅的な被害を受けたフィリピンへの支援として、音楽業界がビッグ・アーティストをフィーチャーしたコンピレーション・アルバムで資金集めに乗り出した。
全収益がフィリピン赤十字社へ寄付される同チャリティ・アルバムには、ビートルズ、ボブ・ディラン、U2、エミネム、ワン・ダイレクション、ケイティ・ペリーなどのスーパースター達が楽曲を提供している。
3大メジャー・レコード会社がサポートし、全39曲が収められている『ソング・フォー・ザ・フィリピン（Songs for the Philippines）』は、世界的ネットワークを持つiTunesストアのiTunes.com/Philippinesにて配信される。全ての参加アーティストおよびレコード会社、音楽出版社は無償でこのプロジェクトに取り組んでいるという。
既に伝えられている通り、iTunesストアでは米赤十字社を通じ、台風ハイエンによって壊滅的な被害を受けたフィリピン救済支援のために寄付することができる。同台風による死者は現在のところ5200人を上回っている。
